Swan Hotel - Harleston

We did not want to leave, can recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights and didn't want to say goodbye. I had tastefully decorated and neat room to myself with a vaulted ceiling, 4 poster bed, for instance. The breakfast looked delicious and satisfactory with a lot of options.

The location was unbeatable and quiet, not very far from Hawkers Hall. The twin room was comfortable with comfy beds.

There was not a great deal of choice on the breakfast menu and the ingredients in the Full English breakfast were not the of best quality. A shame because the food was well cooked and the service was very friendly. .

Great for friends after a night out

The atmosphere was just right and the staff were friendly . The breakfast was great too, I reminded me of royalty with the full spread they offered.

It cost a bit more than I expected but given the experience, I can't complain too much.

The bright pleasant room and the central location. Liked the newly decorated hotel.

Very nice old fashioned Hotel, and still privately owned, very nice bedroom with both bath and shower. Nicely stocked bar with good selection of real ales. Also situated in a charming small town. Would stay again.

The Swan offers a unique atmosphere with its historic charm and character. The meeting facilities were particularly excellent. The town itself is picturesque.

The room showed signs of age and could use some maintenance.

The room was much better than I expected- coordinated, comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly, especially the breakfast staff. Good biscuits on the tea and coffee tray!

There was no one on the reception desk so I had to wait for attention at the bar before I could check in.

I found this hotel to offer charm, a genuine country hospitality, good English food, Owner & Staff pleasant, courteous & with a desire to ensure hat your stay is a good one. Old fashioned service at reasonable prices. A good get away for couples old or young and Great beer. Even the dog is happy to see you. .

None. I got better than expected

The stay was quite interesting, primarily due to the quirky nature of the building. I appreciated the friendly atmosphere provided by the owners, who were genuinely welcoming during our visit. I was disappointed that there was no available restaurant for dinner when we arrived, and the breakfast options were quite limited, missing items like yogurt and fruit. it had its charm but could use some improvements.

regular drinkers in the bar used very coarse language which made us look elsewhere to spend the evenings. Carpets in our room were very stained and marked which lowered the quality of the room.

I appreciated the charming historic character of the Swan, especially the quirky architecture and inviting bar area. The room could benefit from some maintenance. The atmosphere.

Breakfast & breakfast staff were very good

Unfortunately the bar area was less a hotel bar, more a local pub, lots of bad language which seemed to be ignored by the staff, even though hotel residents were about. Flies were abundant, although a warm evening. My room was poorly serviced, bathroom not cleaned, just towels removed, used glass remained unwashed.
